ELIGIBILITY
Scholarship candidates should meet the following criteria:
The candidate has been accepted in a post-secondary education institution
The candidate will pursue studies in any program area with a focus in:
- Social Justice
- Human Rights
- Equity issues
- Anti-racism
The candidate is required to attend the Scholarship Ceremony on June 28, 2008
APPLICATION
The application package includes:
Student Application Form: Students should fully complete the Student Application Form and submit it to Casa Salvador Allende.
Two letters of reference:
- One letter from an individual who can speak to the applicant’s potential to succeed in post-secondary education.
- One letter from an individual who can speak to the applicant’s commitment to social justice.
In addition, the candidate must provide:
AN ESSAY
The essay of up-to 1,500 words will explain the link between the candidate’s own pursuit of higher education and Salvador Allende’s vision of society.
Signed applications and letter(s) of recommendation should be forwarded to the Scholarship Committee of Casa Salvador Allende, by May 30, 2008
Short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
Successful applicants will be notified by June 15, 2008.

AWARD DATE AND CEREMONY
Scholarships will be awarded at the Salvador Allende’s 100 Anniversary Event on June 28, 2008.
