“Memories of a Dreamer, The Journey of a Political Prisoner” to premiere in Canada

Toronto, January 23, 2008 -  Enfoque Productions Inc. is proud to announce that the feature documentary Memories of a Dreamer – The Journey of a Political Prisoner, Based on the life of Felix Mora will premier worldwide at the 2008 World Community Film Festival (www.worldcommunity.ca). The festival, deemed 'the largest social issues filmfest in BC', will be held on February 1 and 2, 2008, in Courtenay, British Columbia.  Memories of a Dreamer will be shown on Saturday February 2nd at 11:10 am.

The film is a first hand account of the hardship suffered by a political prisoner of Chile's cruel 1973 and inhumane dictatorship. More than 30 years after, Félix Mora relives the shocking details of the human rights abuses he suffered, his escape from the dictatorship, and the challenges he faced as an exile in Italy and Canada.

Felix Mora, subject of the documentary indicated that “This is the first Canadian film festival to select Memories of a Dreamerfor screening and  we are especially pleased as the World Community Film Festival is focused on social justice issues and the struggles of people for peace and justice around the world.”

Alisson Larrea, producer and director, detailed more about the documentary by saying that “Felix’s history reflects the lives of thousands of exiled Chileans who despite the tortures and humiliations they suffered, they never gave up in their struggle to have a more just Chile. They are individuals who from the distance continued to fight for the freedom of their country and suffered in a different way the negative consequences of the dictatorship. And at the same time, they developed a great life in their adopted countries without forgetting their roots.”

The film has been sent to several film festivals around the world and announcements of future presentation will be posted on www.memoriasdoc.com

Produced and directed by Alisson Larrea, Memories of a Dreamer was edited by Julia Blua, with cinematography by Felipe Rodriguez and original music by Louis Vautour. Memories of a Dreamer was made possible with 100% funding from the OMNI Television Independent Producers Initiative.
